THIS POSITION IS ELIGIBLE UNDER THE TERMS OF THE EMPLOYEE REFERRAL PROGRAM (ERP):


Applications Engineer, Sr. II: Provide technical and engineering expertise to support and improve the usability, applicability, and adoption of company EDA products, platforms, and solutions. Specifically, apply expertise with company EDA digital design tools and corresponding methodologies and flows to demonstrate the features and capabilities at customer sites and technical events, develop and enhance the product, and provide Synopsys customers with training on the tools. Identify customers’ unique electronic circuit design requirements and translate them to functional specifications. Directly deploy company tools into customers’ testbenches by implementing custom interfaces. Provide post-implementation technical support. Perform sales and product demonstrations. Review and analyze feedback on product and solutions performance. Work with internal R&D Engineering to develop and implement technical roadmaps, specifications, and validation for improvements and enhancements. Expected to refine problem descriptions and develop technical solutions. Suggest new product features. Set project-level goals. Involved in setting and implementing account strategy. Some work to be performed at local customer sites. 40 hours per week. 


Job Requirements: Requires a bachelor’s or foreign equivalent degree in Computer Engineering, Electrical/Electronic Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field and five years of progressive, post-baccalaureate experience providing engineering support for EDA physical design tools.  Also requires education or experience in: 1) RTL design using VHDL and Verilog; 2) identifying RTL bugs using RTL synthesis and physical design knowledge; 3) VLSI circuit design processes; 4) IP design for a variety of technology nodes; 5) customer-facing tool support and presentations; 6) sequential circuit design and analysis; 7) scripting skills; 8) EDA physical design tool methodologies; and 9) customer chip design implementation flow.


Pay Range and Benefits Information: The base salary range across the U.S. for this role is $165,075 to $190,000 per year.  In addition, this role may be eligible for an annual bonus, equity, and other discretionary bonuses.
