Job Description and Requirements

Synopsys Central Engineering team is seeking a Principal full-stack engineer with a strong background in Perl programming and algorithms to work on SynReg, an internal tool used for regression testing. The tool has high scalability requirements, and the team is focused on developing highly optimized software.

The engineer will be responsible for driving new feature delivery and working on all phases of the software development lifecycle, from requirements to post-deployment support. They will work with a team of software engineers and architects to build state-of-the-art tools that enable development teams to build secure, high-quality software faster. They will collaborate across teams and organizations to ensure timely and quality software development.


Responsibilities:

  • Work with the core SynReg architecture team to shape the future technical direction of the tool.
  • Implement new features and functionalities as part of the ongoing development of the SynReg tool
  • Interact and collaborate closely with the geographically distributed remote team members daily.
  • Work with the global user base of SynReg to understand their pain points, negotiate and sanitize their new requirements, and bring them back to the development team.
  • Provide support for the SynReg tool during US working hours.


Key qualifications:

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in computer science, engineering, or a related field
  • Minimum of 10 years of experience in relevant field (software/application development)
  • Strong programming skills in Perl and a thorough understanding of Event Loop (EV) module.
  • Strong programming skills in Python
  • Expertise in distributed computing system like UGE/LSF
  • Good working knowledge of Linux/shell commands and basic administration of Linux systems
  • Ability to make the best decisions based on requirements, capabilities, and resources.
  • Knowledge and experience in ML/AI is a plus
  • Willingness to quickly learn/adapt to new technologies that may be introduced as part of future initiatives.
